Had one of the best Sundays in a long time at the strand. Took the family down for lunch, meals and staff where impeccable but what blew us away was the guy playing live in the beer garden. It was like we where in Melbourne for the afternoon It really put the icing on the cake.

Upmarket Vibe For Strand Hotel
Over the three visits i had the prawn and chorizo linguine, slow baked beef cheeks and on the last occasion i made my own share plate.
The linguine was nice. The beef cheeks were fabulous and the sauce was perfect, I really enjoyed it. For the share plate - I ordered the lemon pepper calamari, spring rolls, pork belly and the chilli garlic prawns. These all were lovely and i found it very enjoyable.
Amazingly, the drive through bottle shop of this pub has a beach front location across from the Coral Sea, as does the rest of the pub.
A Little Piece Of Paradise
The menu is quite varied for a pub. We went for shared entree and steaks, all of which was fine. The steaks were particularly good. The beers were cold as they should be.
Had the lunch time steak / grilled fish, fine for $15.00, chips are very tasty, steak was what you would expect and the fish was fresh and well cooked, have been told the evening meals are a bit expensive.
Shoot up to Yeppoon every now and again for some rest and relaxation, fantastic location on the coast from Rockhampton. The Strand Hotel offers live entertainment, great food and friendly helpful staff and service, atmosphere is great, mixing with locals and other travelers alike
